Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has vowed that his side will travel to the Camp Nou to battle Barcelona with the intention of winning the match, and stressed that the clash is one that the world will be watching.

The Spanish giants face off on Sunday evening, with Los Blancos one point clear of their rivals in the Primera Division standings, meaning the meeting takes huge precedence for the winner.

Perez has masterminded the recent revolution in Madrid, bringing a number of household names to the club during the close season, to the tune of a reported €240 million.
Speaking in a pre-match press conference, he said of the encounter, “Right now the gravity of world football is here.

“We will come to win, we will see how we go. I hope it is a great game that pleases the fans.”

Perez also commented on the possibility of s Real Madrid–Barcelona final of the Champions League, and added that it would be beneficial for the nation to have both sides facing off in the biggest clash of all.

He said, “Real Madrid and Barcelona have excellent relations. There are many people who will be looking at us. We have a responsibility to show that football is a game to unite. It would be best for Spanish soccer.”
