The Los Angeles County Coroner ruled Michael Jackson’s death a homicide…
Michael Jackson’s personal doctor was in the crosshairs of a homicide investigation last night as the superstar’s sister insisted he was murdered.

La Toya Jackson, speaking out for the first time since the King of Pop died nearly nine weeks ago, praised authorities for the probe that led to the Los Angeles County coroner’s ruling the death a homicide on Monday.

“I am thankful to the investigators for uncovering the truth to the world,” La Toya Jackson, 53, said in the statement released to ABC News.

“And I look forward to the day that justice will be served to all the parties involved in my brother’s homicide.”

Jackson family lawyer Londell McMillan also suggested the singer’s kin are pointing the finger of blame at Michael Jackson’s doctor, Conrad Murray.

“The very sad reality [is] that there was a tragic and gross violation of duty and care for Michael Jackson,” McMillan said.

The developments came as the Apollo Theater in Harlem announced it was placing a plaque honoring Jackson on its Walk of Fame this fall.

Jackson, who made his New York debut with the Jackson Five at the famed venue, is also getting a spot in the Apollo’s Legends Hall of Fame.

Murray has been the chief target of a manslaughter investigation into Jackson’s death but has not been charged.

The homicide ruling makes it likely that the physician could soon face charges.

A spokeswoman for the Los Angeles district attorney insisted no decision has been made to slap the cuffs on Murray.

“We don’t have the case. Nothing has been presented to our office,” said Jane Robison. “It’s still an active investigation.”

A shocking police affidavit described the tormented superstar’s last night alive and revealed that Murray had injected him with “lethal levels” of the dangerous anesthetic propofol.

The affidavit from LAPD Detective Orlando Martinez included Murray’s admission to cops that he had plied the superstar with powerful sedatives in addition to propofol before his death on June 25. Jackson was 50.

The doctor’s lawyer, Ed Chernoff, dismissed the affidavit, which was included in the search warrant for the doctor’s offices in Houston and Las Vegas, as a “police theory.”

Murray told Martinez he had treated Jackson for insomnia for six weeks and admitted giving him nightly intravenous doses of 50 milligrams of propofol.

Jackson, had been given propofol by other doctors and referred to it as “milk,” Murray said.

The physician has insisted – ever since Jackson was found unconscious at a rented Los Angeles mansion – that he did nothing wrong.

In a video last week, Murray said he “told the truth, and I have faith the truth will prevail.”

A search of “Jackson’s bedside revealed numerous bottles of medications” prescribed by Murray; the singer’s dermatologist, Dr. Arnold Klein, and other doctors, the affidavit states.
