Angelina Jolie vs. Megan Fox

Ladies in Leather!

Megan Fox has said the comparison to Angelina Jolie is “a lack of creativity on the media’s part,” but the similarities are hard to miss. For one, the edgy stars both love leather! Jolie wore a form-fitting strapless black leather Michael Kors dress on the red carpet earlier this month, and Fox wore braved an all-leather ensemble on the set of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen in sweltering New Mexico.

Identical Ink

These stars are tattoo trendsetters! Among others, Fox has the King Lear quote, “We will all laugh at gilded butterflies,” on her shoulder. She even has the first name of on-and-off beau Brian Austin Green below her waistline. Jolie — whose more recent tats commemorate the births of her children — has also had a love inked, although she has since removed ex-husband Billy Bob Thornton’s name after several laser treatments.

Leggy Look-Alikes!

The 23-year-old actress really tried to get a leg up on Jolie! One month after the mother of six strutted a mile-high slit on her nude chiffon Versace dress while walking the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival, Fox looked fierce in a purple Donna Karan dress that showed off one of her enviable assets while at a movie premiere in Tokyo.

Duplicate Dresses

Either Fox is raiding Jolie’s closet, or these two women have a thing for canary yellow. Regardless, Jolie doesn’t focus too much on fashion. “I just like to be comfortable,” she has said. “I see what comfortable options are out there.”

Perfect Pouts

The 34-year-old is better known for her plump lips, but Fox isn’t bothered by the fact that she’s seen as a sex symbol. “I don’t know why someone would complain about that,” she says. “I think all women in Hollywood are known as sex symbols. That’s what our purpose is in this business. You’re merchandised, you’re a product. You’re sold and it’s based on sex. But that’s okay. I think women should be empowered by that, not degraded.”

Both in Black

Megan Fox has said the comparison to Angelina Jolie is “a lack of creativity on the media’s part,” but the similarities are hard to miss. Whether in long black gowns — Jolie wore one to the Oscars while the Transformers star donned hers to the U.K. premiere of the movie’s sequel — or LBDs, neither star needs to rely on color to stand out.

A-List Action Stars

These box-office babes love their action movies. Jolie brought video game hero Lara Croft to the big screen, and Fox (with Shia LaBeouf) helped relaunch the Hasbro toy line and animated TV series, Transformers, for a new generation. Still, Fox commends the older star’s ability to do more than just stunts. “Angelina was always a Method actress,” she has said. “She’d been nominated for Golden Globes before she ever did Tomb Raider.”

High School Hotties

Even before they hit Hollywood, these two stars started out on a similar path. While a student at Beverly Hills High School, Jolie quickly became a wild child who collected knives, frequently cut herself and had a live-in boyfriend. Fox, who attended Morningside Academy in Florida, was a self-proclaimed outcast and hated among her own gender. “I have a very aggressive personality, and girls didn’t like me for that,” she has said.

Wonders in White

They wow in black and white! Jolie got glam at 2004’s Academy Awards, and Fox shined at Paris Fashion Week this year. Will the two ever rub elbows at the same event? Not likely, as the young starlet says she’d be too embarrassed. “I’m sure she has no idea who I am,” Fox has said. “But if I were her, I’d be like, ‘Who the f— is this little bulls— brat who was in Transformers that’s going to be the next me?'”

Dead Ringer ‘Dos!

Although Fox got mixed reviews after showcasing a slicked down hairstyle (Fox News noted that she “looked as though she desperately needed a shower”) at the MTV Movie Awards this year, Jolie got rave reviews when she donned the same ‘do to the L.A. premiere of Mr. and Mrs. Smith in 2005.

Women Who Won’t Wed

Although both love their leading men, they aren’t ready to get hitched anytime soon. For several years, Jolie and her beau Brad Pitt refused to get married until all people had the right to wed. Now, the parents of six children say they’ll tie the knot when “it’s important to our kids.” Fox, who got engaged to Green in 2006, called it off in February. “I’m not the marrying type,” she said. “I am impulsive and I love my boyfriend.”

Golden Goddesses

In the spirit of the Golden Globes, both stars have picked out gold get-ups for the big night. Jolie resembled the trophy in a strapless dress in 2001 while Fox showed her curves in a gilded gown this year.

On-Set Style Solidarity!

Both actresses look great getting in character, especially when they are dressing for a different era. Jolie, who dressed in true flapper fashion with fur-trimmed coats and cloche hats, played a 1920s mother whose son went missing. Although Fox also traveled back in time for her role as a gun-wielding beauty in the 19th-century Western flick Jonah Hex, she was noticed more for her 22-inch waist than her couture corset on the Louisiana set.
